With his upcoming album in the works, Pain is ready to take his listeners on an even deeper, darker, and more reflective journey—a prequel that explores the disciple’s path toward enlightenment. This “journey” leads to the awareness found in his previous work Thousand Masks of Decay, but here, it evolves through new insights, sounds, and reflections.

In the new album, still without an official title, the core of the narrative lies in the growth of the protagonist—a disciple who embarks on his journey of self-awareness. This inner journey, brought to life with rawer and “dirtier” sounds in the first act, represents a struggle with his own emotions, a descent into confusion that ultimately leads to a clearer understanding of himself and the world around him. The dichotomy between chaos and balance is a recurring theme, just as in Thousand Masks of Decay, but here the protagonist is still in the phase of exploration.

The track (S)Laughter is the Best Medicine emerges as a key piece of the album—a bridge that unites Pain’s past and future. Like a “macabre grin,” the song represents the tension between two extreme reactions to suffering: the hysterical laughter and the massacre. This contrast explores the two ways we can face adversity: one offering a form of liberation, the other an act of destruction. The underlying question of the song is how we confront the chaos around us. "Do you laugh or do you kill?" is the challenge the song poses to the listener, questioning our responses in the face of the incomprehensible.

The concept of the album, though tied to Thousand Masks of Decay, acts as an origin story, the “prequel” that anticipates the transformation of the disciple into the prophet. “If in Thousand Masks of Decay I was the prophet spreading the philosophy of my journey, here I am the disciple who hasn’t yet reached full awareness,” says Pain. The album explores the tension between a world built on lies and the first step in recognizing the truth.

Musically, (S)Laughter is the Best Medicine is one of the tracks that marks the climax of the protagonist's ascent, signaling a turning point in the journey toward completeness. The piece organically connects to the familiar sounds of Thousand Masks of Decay, while still maintaining a raw imprint in the previous tracks—a testament to the inner transformation unfolding throughout the album.

The entire work is designed as a journey through awareness and change. The listener is immersed in a path that blends initial chaos with a process of purification and revelation, culminating in a finale that perfectly reflects the essence of the previous album, but from a more mature and conscious perspective.

With a consistently authentic approach and a sound that grows and refines, Pain takes his audience to another dimension, where inner conflict, hidden truths, and the search for a deeper balance intertwine in an album that promises to be one of the most intense and captivating experiences of his career.
